No one type of fire extinguisher fits every emergency, so understanding what works with different materials is important.

Yee Group will help you identify the type of fire extinguisher you need for the type of materials and fire risks you have in your premises:

  • Class A: SOLIDS – paper, wood, plastic, textiles, etc (use water, foam or dry power extinguisher)
  • Class B: FLAMMABLE LIQUIDS – paraffin, petrol, spirits, etc (use foam, dry powder & CO2 extinguisher)
  • Class C: FLAMMABLE GASES – propane, butane, methane, etc (use dry powder)
  • Class D: METALS – aluminium, magnesium, etc (use specialist extinguisher)
  • Class E: ELECTRICAL APPARATUS OR CURRENT (use CO2 extinguisher)
  • Class F: COOKING OILS & FAT (use wet chemicals, specialist for class F fires)
