The £2.5 million category A, strip out and fit out project to refurbish Lyndon House, a 16-storey office building on Birmingham’s Hagley Road is a prestigious project for Tang interiors. The area around Hagley Road is currently undergoing a revival with a number of high-profile building projects and the imminent arrival of the Metro stop.
Known for its bespoke interiors, Tang Interiors needed a fire stopping subcontractor who had the experience to work swiftly and to a high standard. The multi-discipline passive fire stopping team on site from Yee Group, had a range of different trade backgrounds and this proved advantageous on this programme, as the installation team were able to amend drywall partitions to incorporate a letterbox detail. This allowed for the installation of more secure systems of install. It also gave a cleaner, more protected and technical finish and reduced the lead time on installing the critical Fire Stopping measures that this high-rise building required.
Adam Mattimoe, Contracts Manager of Tang Interiors stated: “We found the Yee Group to be professional and proactive both on and off site. Their operatives carry out their work diligently, with care and pride, leaving the area clean and tidy on completion. We will have no hesitation in engaging them on future projects.”.
Simon Chapman Managing Director at Yee Group, adds: “We are excited to be working with Tang to deliver the required fire protection to the refurbished building. Our expert installers have many years’ experience working in multi-let office and other high-rise buildings.”. He continued; “We have worked closely with Tang throughout this project, to ensure its delivery on time and on budget”.
