How to choose the right air conditioning system
Understanding the differences between the types of system available, can help you choose the right system. For smaller installations, “single split” air conditioning equipment is the most commonly installed. Such systems have two connected units, one indoor and one outside. The advantages of this are that the main equipment is positioned outside of the room to be cooled. This allows the indoor unit to be smaller; having fewer operational parts and also quieter. The indoor units can be chosen and positioned to suit the design, shape and cooling requirements of the room. Indoor units can be recessed into or fixed under the ceiling, or mounted on to a wall.
Alternatively “multi-split” air conditioning systems connect the outdoor unit to multiple indoor units, with the benefit of reduced installation times and costs in many instances.
