Electrical Estimator

With an increased commercial focus over the last twelve months, Yee Group has grown the volume of work it undertakes. Since July 2016 the electrical share of that growth has increased significantly. As a result we are searching for a full time, qualified and preferably experienced estimator who will build on that momentum.

The Role

This role would be ideal for a time served professional looking for the next step in their career. First and foremost this is an electrical estimating role although, in our diversified electrical business, any experience you might have in Fire/Intruder Alarms and Air Conditioning/Refrigeration systems would be a distinct advantage.

Great Candidates will:

  • be working in an electrical estimating role. Please note: exceptional candidates with related electrical experience may be considered
  • have UK recognised Electrical installation qualifications
  • be able to demonstrate broad, significant practical experience of electrical design work and installations
  • show that they are up to date with current technologies and approaches
  • possess a full UK car driving licence – preferably clean. 

Key Duties:

Work with customers and prospects to maximise the value of the service we provide.
Ensure that all proposals meet prevailing standards, regulations and customer specific safety and use requirements.
Prepare quotations and tender responses to meet customer deadlines and Yee Group quality standards.
Develop processes to minimise quotation lead times for “small works” which improves our service to customers.
Ensure our costings are accurate and realistic, make sure we can do the work on time and to price.
Use and help develop our processes and systems to ensure we deliver a sustainable service.
Fully engage in larger projects to support our customer and our operations team throughout.

Job Location

Based in Burton on Trent and working from here, on a daily basis.


£30K to £35K basic based on experience. Company car and bonus scheme.

Air conditioning Engineer

We are currently looking to recruit an experienced air-conditioning engineer to join our growing air conditioning division.

You should have at least 5 years previous experience in this role and be technically competent and familiar with all types of air conditioning and refrigeration systems. It would be preferential for you to also hold an electrical qualification. In return, you will become involved with an extremely busy and exciting contractor and part of a growth story that should provide career growth and stimulation.

The role

In this role you will be responsible for ensuring effective servicing, diagnosis and repair of customer systems, to cover breakdowns, undertake planned and responsive maintenance as well as repairs and installation works when required.

Job Location – Based in Burton on Trent and working from here on a daily basis.

Salary - £26K to £34K based on experience

Knowledge skills & experience

F-Gas qualifications.
Educated to GCSE or equivalent, with a minimum of NVQ Level3
Experienced in all aspects of air conditioning,refrigeration installation & maintenance.
Capable of working to and understanding drawings i.e. Installation, circuit diagrams and line schematics.
Excellent level of computer literacy.
Experience in delivering Customer Care and being focused on the needs of the client.
Ability to work on own initiative or as part of a team.
Performance and quality focused.


Enthusiastic, "hands on, can do" approach, willing to pitch in and help out irrespective of the works.
Self-motivated team member with the ability to work with minimal supervision.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Fire Stopping Site Supervisor

We seek a dynamic and knowledgeable site supervisor, with a ‘can do’ attitude and pragmatic approach. The individual must demonstrate resilience and the ability to manage complex matters whilst motivating others to achieve the required results. The ideal candidate will have experience in passive fire protection, beam cladding, intumescent painting, acoustic/fire barrier installation and air sealing and will assist in developing the team and support our vision for expansion.

Job Role

Yee Group are looking to recruit a Site Supervisor for a full time, permanent position. The role will entail supervising sub-contractors, contract staff and direct labour for allocated site activities

The successful candidate will:

• Ensure that tool box talks, task briefs and COSHH briefs are carried out for all work tasks prior to commencement of work for allocated contracts. 
• Ensure that all allocated tasks are undertaken in accordance with the planned safe method of working. 
• Be responsible for ordering and receipt of site deliverables, timely returns of goods receipts notices as instructed. 
• Promote safe working practices, ensure full implementation and compliance with all Health and Safety procedures.

Main responsibilities will include:

• Managing the on-site team, including production, ensuring each project is completed on time and within governing body guidelines.
• Effectively communicating with clients and Yee Group management to report on project progress.
• Accurately completing necessary documentation and adhering to company process and procedures.
• Conducting detailed site inspections for survey and quality requirements, including ‘snagging’.
• Coach and develop on-site team in all aspects of Passive Fire Protection and feedback all performance and training needs.
• Leading competency assessments of technicians and operatives in line with third party certification.
• Advising clients with industry and technical advice.
• Conforming to all health and safety procedures as required, including relevant method statements, risk assessment, COSHH and Tool Box Talks.
• Attending client and company meetings as technical and production support.
• Measurement of works, along with managing on-site material requirements.
• Site launching and closure.

Essential requirements:

• Extensive experience in passive fire protection, with acoustic and air sealing.
• Experience of multiple industries including construction.
• Knowledge of current mainstream manufacturer’s passive fire protection materials.
• Experience within a customer facing role.
• Meticulous working standards.
• Effective communication skills.
• Ability to work well under pressure and prioritise, organise and coordinate own workload.
• Dynamic and pro-active work ethic.
• Valid CSCS card.
• Good general education, including English and Maths.
• Full UK Driving licence.
• Own hand tools.

Desirable requirements:

• Experience of surveying new passive fire protection installation requirements.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Third party accreditation (FIRAS).

Salary - £26,000- £32,000 based on experience.
